Criminology (with Foundation Year)

Required Qualification

As a general guide, we look for qualifications that are equivalent to the British high school A-levels. A portfolio is also required for most of our art and design courses. To be considered for entry to a foundation year (year 0 of a foundation year), students should hold the Standard XII with 70% or above. GCSE English at Grade 4 (previously grade C) or above, or IELTS 5.5 with no component less than 5.0 in each band, or equivalent

Scholarships

Undergraduate Academic Merit Scholarship (UAMS) This is to reward applicants who have demonstrated outstanding academic ability. Direct Entry Academic Merit Scholarship (DAMS) The University offers a Direct Entry (Year 3 and Top-up) Academic Merit Scholarship as a way to reward students who have demonstrated outstanding academic ability. Postgraduate Taught Academic Merit Scholarship (PAMS) A £1,500 or £1,000 tution fee reduction will be offerred based on the grade. International Academic Merit Scholarships (IAMS) A £1,000 and £2,000 of scholarship for applicants from overseas, and non-settled EU students who are studying a full-time degree level course (not at foundation level) and who exceed the entry criteria for their course. Dean's Scholarships Tuition fee reduction of £2,500 based on the full annual fee of the course for students who have achieved academic excellence. Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships Tuition fee reduction of £3,000 based on the full annual fee of the course for students who have achieved academic excellence. Sport scholarships Scholarships are awarded to athletes competing at national and international levels in a variety of sports, including - but not exclusively - basketball, cricket and football. Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) scholarship These scholarships provide eligible first year undergraduate students, from specific ethnic backgrounds, £1,000 each to use towards their university tuition fees or accommodation. Solent Sanctuary Scholarship A full yearly fee waiver and a £3,000 grant to a person seeking sanctuary studying on a three-year undergraduate programme. Lisa Wilson Scholarship The Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund is available to help young people with the cost of higher education. The scholarship funding will be up to a maximum of £1,000 per year. This would be renewed annually. Scholarships for MSc Applied AI and Data Science Solent University has secured 36 scholarships (£10,000 each) as part of the £13million Office for Students (OfS) funding initiative (#JoinYourAIFuture) to increase the skilled workforce and diversity in AI and data science.
